Fundraisers and boards often lament the fact that fundraising events are so expensive to produce. Often, an event planner will work on gala planning for six, nine, even 12 months out of the year. It’s true, the average event costs around $0.50 per dollar raised, where other efforts have a much higher ROI.
BUT, when done right, events are a key component of your donor cultivation plan, particularly for your major donors.
In this four-part series, I’ll explain how to use your event as a relationship building opportunity. You’ll learn what you should be doing in the weeks leading up to the event, on the night of the event, and in the weeks following the event in order to fully maximize the return on your event investments.
Come back in the coming days for parts two through four!
